Important Pair of Chinese Heavily Carved Spinach Jade Emperor and Empress Table Screen Thrones Inlaid with Semi Precious Stones Mounted Upon Stepped Pedestal Bases. Each Screen Section is Heavily Carved out of a Solid Piece of Heavy Spinach Jade. One (1) with Relief Carved Lions and Reticulated Borders the other with Relief Carved Phoenix Birds and Reticulated Borders. The Emperor is Seated Upon a Throne Carved with Dragons Accompanied by His Male Courtesans Standing on Either Side. The Empress is Seated Upon a Throne with Phoenix Birds and is Ornately Adorned with Motifs of Her Imperial Station Accompanied by her Courtesans Standing on Either Side. The Figures Royal Hats are Inlaid with Lapis, Coral, Jadeite and Malachite. Each Mounted Upon a Carved Jade Stepped Base. Resting Upon Pierce Carved Inlaid Hardwood Bases. Each Signed with Chinese Characters on the Bottom. Very Good Condition. Jade Throne Screens Measure 19 Inches Tall by 17-1/2 Across and 8-3/4 Inches Wide. Carved Wood Bases Measure 3-1/8 inches Tall by 19 Inches Across and 9 Inches Wide. We will not ship this item due to its size. We will happily recommend a list of outside vendors upon request.
