A gilt and patinated bronze mantel clock by Henry Dasson. Modelled with a seated putto holding a pen and paper engraved with a kneeling figure, the putto leaning against a pedestal fronted by a 4 inch enameled Roman and Arabic dial, with pierced and engraved gilt hands signed 'Henry Dasson / A Paris', surmounted by a sculptors hammer, chisel and carved head on which stands a cockerel, raised on a plinth base with stiff leaf and gadrooned borders. Signed on right side Henry Dasson 1888. Japy Freres movement. Measures 12-1/2" H x 11-3/8" W x 4-1/2" D. Condition: Good condition. No key or pendulum.
